OCR has been the Original One-Day Renewal Session Since 1994
Since 1994 Ohio Certificate Renewal has offered complete, all in one day trade related continuing education programs. Over 9000 people have taken advantage of these programs, which meet all the Ohio Construction Industry Licensing Board (O.C.I.L.B.) requirements for HV, RE, HY, or PL License Renewal. We also offer hours needed for the Electrical License Holder and Inspector as continuing education. These 8-hour programs are designed specifically to fulfill the O.C.I.L.B. and O.B.B.S. requirements. We also offer half-days that provide 4-hours of CE.

Certificates are emailed automatically, immediately after course completion and are available in their account for download for 3 years.
Hello — my name is Harold Plant.

In 1992, the Ohio legislature passed House Bill 402, creating what was then the Ohio Construction Industry Examining Board, OCILB, and establishing certification for the HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, and hydronics trades. Michael Keenan was the board’s director at the time, and the credential was called a “specialty certificate,” carrying a 10-hour annual continuing education requirement.
I set out to meet that requirement properly, assembling a group of talented instructors and industry leaders to build a program worth a contractor’s day. In April 1994, Ohio Certificate Renewal delivered its first 10-hour program at the Fawcett Center on the campus of The Ohio State University.
At the time, it was uncommon for anyone to offer a complete 10-hour program covering all four subject areas across the specialty trades in a single day. We did — and the scale that made it possible also let us put a better-than-average meal in front of the contractors who attended. They’ve always deserved the best.
More than 9,000 people have come through our programs since. Today our courses are approved for OCILB and Ohio Board of Building Standards credit, and we’re an International Code Council Preferred Provider. We teach live, by interactive webinar, and on on-line on-demand.
